Other websites are “stealing” my JPG/GIF by inline inclusion

I see no need to replace those images with nastygrams via htaccess

Innovative use of robots.txt

webmasterworld.com/robots.txt excludes all bots

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

Robots are “…are a major drag on the system”, wow, while most other sites try everything to get indexed WBM can turn away bots and still attract thousands of visitors.

But what is more interesting about their robots.txt is what appears after the disallow, a “Bot Blog” in plaintext complete with an advert and copyright notice.

Google Earth Bandwidth Problems

Google Earth (the excuetable) and Google Maps (the website) are excellent. Recently I’ve been using the former to look former holiday destinations, ahh the memories.

Naturally, I had a look around to contiguous USA, from Muncie, IN (of Hudsucker Proxy fame) down to Oklahoma City, OK, very cool, well until I looked at DUMeter (a bandwitdh usage monitor) I downloaded over 3GB today! My ISP has a cap of 30GB, so lets say I won’t be using Google Earth everyday.
