088 is back

Previously assigned to Ireland’s first - and only - analogue mobile phone network called Eircell but later rebranded Vodafone the 088 (ohh-eight-eight) prefix once adorned the business cards of the Diners Club carrying business man of the early 90s. Yet over time it began to appear on the van doors of the rural second-hand car salesman who enjoyed the impressive rural coverage.

Enough time has passed for the stigma to have been forgotten and now Digiweb who now control the prefix will be able to attract customers with the still catchy, dare I say golden number prefix.
